Filter change guidelines

To keep your Fohen product performing at its best and to ensure your warranty remains intact, please follow these essential guidelines:

Regular filter changes

  • Every 6 Months: Change your filters every 6 months to maintain optimal performance and water quality.
  • For Hard Water Areas: If you’re in a hard water area, replace your filters every 3 months to prevent scale buildup and protect your system.

Know your water type

Check Water Hardness: Determine if your area has hard water by consulting your local water authority or using a home test kit. Adjust your filter replacement schedule accordingly.

The tap I ordered wasn’t in stock but Verana customer service was great and offered me a similar alternative. The tap is very nice to look at and feels good quality. The instructions that come in the box aren’t great but the video online is much better so use these to fit. Fitting itself is easy enough to DIY. It’s only been in a couple of weeks so can’t comment on the longevity just yet

3-in-1 tap

Operating the spring loaded knob for boiling water is located on the left side. Makes it a bit harder since it requires some strength to use it. The kettle / tank is fairly noisy.

I like the hot water tank and tap but not keen in the filter, it doesn't appear to be good quality using charcoal as the filter. Otherwise I'm happy with the system.

What is the difference between a 2-in-1, 3-in-1, 4-in-1 and 5-in-1 tap?

A 2-in-1 kitchen tap is a standard mixer that delivers mains hot water and mains cold water.

A 3-in-1 instant boiling water tap delivers mains hot, mains cold, and instant filtered boiling water.

A 4-in-1 instant boiling water tap delivers mains hot, mains cold, instant filtered boiling water, plus filtered cold (or filtered chilled on some models) drinking water.

A 5-in-1 instant boiling water tap delivers mains hot, mains cold, instant filtered boiling water, filtered cold, and chilled filtered water.
Are boiling water taps expensive to run?

We have designed our boiling water taps to be extremely energy-efficient, costing less than 10p a day to run. The greatest saving, however, is time. With a boiling water tap, you'll no longer have to wait for the kettle to boil or juggle multiple kettles of water.

Kettles cost a few pence per boil, which means they may cost more to run if they're used multiple times a day.
Are instant boiling water taps safe?

Yes, our taps are designed with safety in mind. The spring-loaded mechanism prevents little ones from accessing boiling water, while also switching the boiling water function off when you move away from the sink. What's more, at 98°C, the near-boiling water is dispensed in a steady stream without spluttering.

Our taps are safer than kettles for a few reasons:

  1. They can't be moved around the room, unlike a kettle
  2. They don't become hot to the touch, unlike a kettle
  3. They have a spring-loaded mechanism to prevent children from accessing boiling water

How long does a boiling water tap last?

Our taps are designed to last for years, even in areas with hard water. A boiling water tap that has been properly maintained may last up to a decade or longer. What's more, our 2 year warranty (1 year on Hanström 4-in-1 Swan and Square taps) ensures you are covered in the rare event that your tap malfunctions.
